Golf Etiquette

We had a beautiful day yesterday 70ish no wind clear blue skies. A perfect day for a round of golf with my teenage daughter. In the middle of the winter we don't get many days like this here in west Texas this time of year. We need to practice and stay in touch with our golf game through the off season and to get a break from basketball and all the pressure of having to play at a top ranked basketball school. It starts to wear on you mentally after a while. So a relaxing round of golf no score no expectations feel good about the good shots and laugh about the bad ones. That is what we needed and that is what we went out there for. But because it was a great day a lot of other people had the same idea. We play at a public course and on the nice days it is full and it is slow you just have to accept it and take your time and play in your slot and enjoy yourself  it is backed up one through eighteen. There is no point in playing through. Now you get those old men who think they can play and are in a hurry. Here is the problem in golf the course books to many and to close together and some people play fast and some play slow. And some have no respect or regard for others and they think if they start hitting on top of the group in front they will speed up. They are like ostriches with there heads in the sand they can't see the course is full and just take there time and enjoy playing the game and the day. No they are in a hurry they won't to ruin your day because the are stupid people who can't see the big picture and all they want to do is push push push these people need to find another sport and give up on golf they will never be any good at this game because they don't have the mental toughness and patience golf requires. Pool  Bowling anything but golf a game that requires patience patience patience. Anyway I had to get into some guys face and be belligerent to get it through his stupid head not to hit the ball until after we were off the green. I am amazed at how stupid some people can be this is a serious situation people are killer every year from getting hit in the head by a golf ball. WE were playing a Reese Golf Course and this is the first time I have had this problem there. But I will never play Shadow Hills because that is all there is over there Grumpy old men who think they can play golf. Try to have a little golf etiquette and be safe.



              

Modern Aliens

AS you look back at history and the invention of civilization it seems to have taken place a approximately the same time in different parts of the world. This is a curious coincidence how is it that all over the world across vast oceans and land masses. Humans after living on this planet for millions of years all the sudden start to plant crops and gather together in town and cities. Communicate with each other developed writing to communicate with the past. Then they can build on the collective consciousness of others and start the process of civilization. Now that paragraph does not sound that amazing but it is... That is the difference between us and all other animal life on this planet. Why did dogs not do this or cats. They have been here just as long as us maybe longer. What about Chimpanzees the have four fingers and a thumb they can manipulate objects  they can think and there brains are not far removed from ours. Why did they not evolve in to a civilized species. This is the question of life and long ago people explained this with Religion. With the enlightening come the questions Who am I?? Why am I here?? What is this place??  And yes I will die..... It is a limited existence there is a time limit. Once you have a conscious and become self aware. Then your mortality is inevitable. Then there is fear no animal wants to die. You will fight for life with your last breath. So people developed religion to calm peoples fears and to control the masses for the purpose of gaining power over them. The same way the use of money is a way to control people and make them do what you want them to.  Money and Religion are the two leverage devices civilization uses to manipulate people. And they have since the beginning of time. Deep inside our human soul  we know there is a God someone started all of this And we have tried to explain this in many many different ways. We worshiped the SUN the MOON the STARS rocks that fall from the sky Gold all kinds of Animals. Wisdom. We worship anything and everything because we don't know and we are desperately searching for answers. So there is a problem with our soul we are lost and empty inside. We are not at peace on this planet.
  Now why is it we can only eat about 20 % of the vegetation on this planet and if you look closely at the plants we do eat they come from three precise places on the planet the birth places of civilization.  There are just a handful of plants that feed the whole worlds population. And they originate in these places. The first is wheat from the Middle east. Then there is Rice from the far east.  Then there is all the plants that come from South America Potatoes, Tomatoes, Corn, Squash, Beans. There are others but these are the plants that feed this world the main plants and look at where they originated. Now why is it we can't eat all the other plants on this planet the trees the bushes why can't we eat grass,, weeds are we indigenous to this planet or are we from somewhere else and did we bring our food with us. Are we a hybrid with an ape from this planet and an alien from another planet. Are we a cancer on this planet planted here 10,000 years ago  for some purpose unknown to us. Are we just waiting for the return of the Aliens that seeded this planet with there seed. Who knows but it is hard to worship the Sun now that we know what it is and it is hard to worship the Moon now we know what it is And it is hard to worship tales told by people who lived in tents and wiped there ass with there hands and were living in fear of all the things that happen on this planet that they did not understand and had no knowledge of  Volcanoes Earthquakes Tsunami's Meteors Fossils. Any other natural disasters that we see all the time now. With our global view of the planet. WE need to move past Religion and Money and try and reach a new since of consciousness Go ahead and evolve into the star people we came from ........

                                    

Our Troops

People keep saying on facebook we support our troops that is a lie if you really supported our troops you would vote these Republican bastards out of office and bring the boys home and stop spending all that money on the military Who are we fighting anyway China I don't think so they own Walmart they are taking money out of this country hand over fist. Everything we use is made in China we don't make nothing here anymore except babies. T Boone Pickens said this is the largest transfer of wealth in the history of man all the money we spend on fuel from the Arabs and all the commerce with China. This country can't not stand that big of a trade deficit for to long. Sure we can print more money but it won't be worth anything. And what is the Republican answer to this problem lets be the big bully on the block and go and exploit third world countries. Yes lets steal there resources and invade their countries put our young men in harms way to strip the wealth from the country Where is all the oil money going from Iraq Its not balancing our budget is it. The price is not going down is it. The GREED of  American business is unbelievable. And since big business owns our government we the American people have no say in anything anymore. We are becoming just another third world country to be exploited. Stagnate less and less opportunity everyday if you don't have it you are not going to get it. Now we have social unrest the young form gangs and take what they need to survive in a GREED driven society. Where it is all about what you have not who you are. This country is in sad shape morally bankrupt.  That is why our Kids and grand kids may have to pay for the polices we implement now and the greed we show to the rest of the world. Looking back in history great power is followed by great suffering. Look at Egypt. Greece, Persia, Roma, Germany all great empires at one time now just little countries. And they were almost destroyed in there defeat. The population of these countries were devastated  and the scare is still a part of their national personality.  There is one way to fix this situation get the companies out of government turn it back over to the people And regulate greedy people and companies . Never happen!!!!!!!!!! So don't say you Support the Troops if you are not willing to take the hard line and change the system and bring them HOME. for good..Or till next time someone wants to steal the resourses of a third world country.



         

Trinity

Tonight is the big game Shallowater vs Trinity. They are both coming in with two loses and they both lost to Lamesa. Even tho Shallowater beat Lamesa in their first game and lost to Trinity in their first meeting. So the stage is set for a really good game. Shallowater with a record of 13 wins and 2 loses with two Tournament Championships The Sundown and The Levelland and in the Levelland they had to over come Frendship and district rival Cooper. For a small school like Shallowater that was quite the accomplishment.
And win or lose it has been a great season for the girls. They really came out and played some steady basketball. And it is a shame to have the whole season riding on this one game but they came out flat and tired last week against Lamesa and got beat. That all night party over at Cagles just killed them. And you have to remember when you are number one everybody wants to knock you off. So they are going to try their hardest and play their best game against you. So you can't have a emotional let down just because you beat a team bad the first time. You can't look past teams you have to play everyone the same.
  Looking at the game tonight I my self would double team Breckland the whole game with pressure the whole court. If she is going to beat us I would make her work for it. Put your two best defences players on her and run a triangle zone in the paint. A two one zone not a one two. In this way you can stop the short jump shot and still have a post player under the basket to stop the penetration. Don't press them get back into your zone and pressure their point guard if you don't get back they will fast break you. You say why would you do that well because they only have one player who can beat us and that is their point guard If you take her out of the game then they are not a very good team. With her passing and decision making and 3 point  shooting they are a really good team. She is the key so turn her off this game with pressure. Don't let her ever get comfortable that is the way to beat them. And once you get a lead don't go to the bench pour it on them don't let it be close at the end. That is why they lost the first time had a ten point lead in the second quarter and the coach went to the bench and they took advantage of the subs and came back. You can't do that against the good teams. But that is why you play the games to learn and our Middle school coaches are learning just like the players. It is one thing to play and a whole other to coach. And it takes practice experience dedication and an open mind to be a good coach. And I think all of our coaches have those qualities. The main thing is to Educate and Motivate. Then after that there is a lot of way to look at the game the season. Hey my Mob team I don't care if they win or lose so everybody plays the same amount. Maybe that is the way our school coaches are they want to get everyone playing time and that is a good thing..     That's enough of this Good Luck Girls...



           

Team Player

When I was a little kid I would say 4th or 5th grade best I can remember. I would play baseball all summer.That was my thing baseball I loved it and I was pretty good at it. Little League was a big thing to me. Then in the spring of the year our school would put a little team together and we would play all he other schools around our part of the city. Now by this time I had been playing ball for 4 or 5 years and I knew the game and was good at it. Yes I was a prima dona I was the best I knew it all and no one could tell me anything. Now we are playing a school I use to go to my first 3 years of school and I knew most if not all the players at that school and I wanted to win bad. Because it would not be long till the Little League Season would start and I would see all these kids over there and I wanted bragging rights. Well it wasn't going good our pitcher was terrible he could not get the ball over the plate and when he did they hit it out of the park I was getting frustrated mad. I am thinking what is this coach doing keeping this kid in as pitcher he sucks. Myself I always played catcher on every team I played on. so I am behind the plate. So I started throwing the ball over the pitchers head then I would throw it to him in the dirt. That's when the coach called time out and took me out of the game and I said why are you taking me out he is the one who sucks. Then they started the game back. The coach sit there and told me he is our best pitcher he just gets to nervous in the games and can't perform. We have to put him in there long enough to settle down and relax and get some confidence he needs our help. He needs your help then I started feeling bad that I acted so selfish All I could think about was winning. I wasn't thinking about the game or the players or the coaches the fans all I was thinking about was my self and winning. That is when I first learned about being a team player. And we came back and won that game. But it did not matter because from then on I was a team player. And thinking about the game trying to make the right decisions thinking about he players on both sides the fans the coaches that's being a team player. A real player. You know looking back that is the only game I remember from those days and It is not because we won it's because I learned a life lesson that day. The name of the coach the players I can;t remember any of them. But it was a day that changed my life and that is the beauty of sports. And I was lucky to have a coach who could see past winning. And show me all the other aspects of the game Thanks....... That is why I like to coach a little kids team now. To show them there is no black and white just different shades of gray. Try to look at the whole picture..... 




                     

Young and Stupid

Young and stupid is a dangerous combination. That is right and most of us are sufferers of this condition in our lives yes being young and stupid can be a tragic problem. You know a 16 year old kid gets a brand new pickup truck to go back and forth to school next thing you know they are driving on a country road with a bunch of kids in the back and showing off the kid drives a little to fast and rolls the truck and kills some of the kids in the back. Didn't mean to do it was an accident none the less it happened and people are dead for being YOUNG AND STUPID.
 Girl is driving down the road texting on her phone early in the morning she takes her eye off the road for a second and she flips her vehicle and is dead. I wonder if it was a important conversation to lose your life over. Another case of YOUNG AND STUPID.
 I don't think anyone is immune to this condition but according to Insurance Mortality Tables you are a whole lot more likely to be infected before the age of 25. After that age for some reason the condition starts to go in to remission somewhat until one reaches the age of 40 and it is almost completely gone.
Anyway I my self suffered from this problem in my youth for some reason I was attracted to pool halls and all the things that congregate there. The Alcohol the Gambling the easy girls as a matter of fact if you meet a girl in a pool hall her name is probably Easy. Or at lest her disposition is. OK on with the story I was about 14 when I went in to Town with a half ass friend of mine one night by the way night is when these places start to jump it is the only time worth going and getting in to shit. They are the clubs for  kids to young for bars.So I am with this guy at a place called Pete's Pool Hall and we are just shooting a game of pool  looking around  for any girls that we hadn't already been with. Funny when you are young you want to have relations with every girl you can. I think it is another symptom of YOUNG AND SUPID.Well there we are doing our thing and all the sudden A guy comes running in with a gun in his hand yelling and screaming I am going to kill you bitch and you to you Motherfucker. It was a couple at the pool table right next to us apparently this was his girl friend and her boyfriend and he was not the sharing kind. He was loud telling them the boy and girl what he was going to do to them. Then all the sudden this guy I was with walked over and told the guy with the gun if you are going to shoot someone motherfucker shoot me and the guy said I don't have no problem with you so Charles just reached out and grabbed the gun and hit the guy in the head right between the eyes blood went everywhere then he turned and said look T that is what some people called me back then  I got a new gun and we ran out of there as fast a we could got in his car and went to another pool hall. YOUNG AND STUPID. I did not go to the pool halls with Charles anymore it wasn't long after that he had to do ten years in the pin for armed robbery and I think I know where he got the gun. YOUNG AND STUPID.                  

This and That

This Sunday Summer and I have a meeting with the other Mob coaches to pick a all star team and get our tournament brackets Shoot I didn't even know there was a all star team. I am in a fix I should have been paying more attention to the players on the other teams instead of my own. I don't get to vote for players off of my team. I think I have two all stars for sure and maybe one more has an out side chance. I don't really understand it why they pick a team when they have know place to play after it is over they are going to split the players in to two groups and play a game. They should keep them together and play the four AAU tournaments this June as a Mob all star team.. Just my opinion.
  Now to Monday's game here in Shallowater they are playing Trinity. Here is a little back ground. There is a team in Lubbock called the Ice an AAU team that is made up of girls from Frendship, Cooper and Trinity. Now our girls have never won a game against the Ice. But this year they won against Frendship and Cooper but lost by 3 to Trinity. So this Monday is the big game for district and everyone is excited about our  chances. I just told Summer to go and play her game and have fun it's no different from any other game. Just play your best and let the winning and losing take care of it self. Next year it will not matter who won and who lost it will just be one more of a bunch of  memories from your basketball career. So relax and have fun.




    

Mob

Last night was our last Mob game it was not much of a contest. We won by a score of 32 to 8 we were asked to stop pressing at the start of the 4th quarter. Because unknown to me they were a team with problems. In the hall before the game the coach of the other team and one of his parents got into an argument
apparently they were talking about playing time and who was a better player and who should play more at one point the parent said something very rude and made a little girl cry. Then went on to say how his daughter was the best player in Lubbock and the coach was not playing her enough. And that is why they were not winning. This is what happens when you make winning your priority. I am sorry to tell you this but winning is not the reason for playing games. Learning to play the game and have fun is the number one reason .Next is developing your skills getting better. Then Sportsmanship how to win with grace and how to lose with dignity. And keep your head up at all times. I tell all my teams I coach there are two reasons we play basketball Number one it's Fun And number two we are good at it. And there is only one way to coach young kids here it is you educate  and motivate you tell them what you what them to do then you tell them how good they are doing it. And that is it there is no room for a critic or a fault finder. Fault finders need not apply. When someone is doing there best and trying there hardest there is only room for praise. I heard a coach tell a girl in one of our games that is not your shot you don't take that shot you are to far out. Well the girl was short and could not shoot inside she would get blocked. So when she got outside she shot the ball
and the way I look at it a missed shot is a good pass when you rebound. Don't look at it as a missed shot see it as a good pass. Knucklehead look at the whole game and missed shots and rebounds are a big part of it. So if you take this approach to coaching and everything is positive you will have a better re pour with your players and with your parents. And parents can have unrealistic expectations about there children's athletic abilities. Just try and be fair and supportive.  I was lucky this year I got a group of great girls and nice parents..And like most things in life there are a few bumps along the way no matter how smooth the road is.
So if you sign your kid up for Little League or Little Dribblers just be sure to take it with a grain of salt and remember your kid is probably not going to be the next Tiger Woods, Michael Jordon, Sheryl Swoops if you were not a great athlete chances are your kid will not be either. But that does not mean they can't have fun playing sports. And be good school players...






      

Football Playoffs

So you got some extra money and it's playoff time and your thinking I can lay down a few bets and clean up because this year it is pretty easy to pick who is going to win.  Wait wait wait back up asshole yes you can probably pick the winner but can you beat the spread it is almost impossible to beat the spread anymore they have computers running stats and prognosticators putting in the human factors. So yes Green bay is hot but at 3 points and playing in Chicago that is a dead heat my friend. If you want to gamble just go to a alley somewhere and play dice or flip a coin with a bunch of drunks. This is not the game to put your kids thought college on forget about it. Personally I think Green Bay is hot and has the momentum going in and both are outdoor cold weather teams so know advantage there. And believe you me Chicago is one cold place this time of year I know I spent a year there when I was young . It is miserable in the winter unbelievably cold.
But that is where both teams play and both have outdoor stadiums. So this is to close to call. that is why its at 3. But it's Green Bay all the way.
  Next The Jets vs the Steelers this could turn out to be a great game. Yes I said great I know defence wins championships and everyone knows the steel curtain and this will be the difference Big Ben will do his job
and Sanchez will do his. It will come down to stops and I think the Steelers make more stop than the Jets
Third down and five the Steelers stop them more time than the Jets do. It;s that simple. Now what do we got well I will tell you The Steelers and Green Bay in the Super Bowl in Dallas. That does not work on so many different levels Being from Texas and a Dallas Cowboy fan and to see the super bowl played in Dallas and who are the two teams please  I hate both of these team and cities and population and to have these dam Yankees down here playing the super bowl in Dallas it could get ugly. I would not watch this game if you payed me money. And if by chance it is the Jets and Chicago well I don't hate them as much just a little I mite watch some of that game really not a chance who cares. No one out west cares about the large ant beds back east that is right we don;t cares about there Football or Basketball teams. So this year is a wash for people out west. My opinion




       

Money and Power

You know its not a big world anymore as a matter of fact it is a small world. That is right it use to be the world was huge hard to get around different cultures religions peoples skin colors all making for suspicions
and distrustfulness and exploitation of people who are not the same as you they are not as human as you they don't deserve your respect or consideration. That is the way it use to be and to some it is still the same. They don't respect different people hell some don't even respect there own kind. They will exploit there own population just as readily as anyone else. For what money and power that is right people don't care about your God the color of your skin the culture you were born in to. All people care about in this world is Power Power to travel Power to live in a large house with lots of servants to do everything for you Power for your children do as they please. Power to posses all the toys that make you think you are happy. The Cars the boats the airplanes the house at the beach the house in the mountains The house in the city the house in the country.Go to the mountains to ski after the first snows Then down to the Islands to be warm in the winter.
Keep moving so you don't get bored or God forbid fall in to a rut or a routine.
 Most people who live like this are empty in side that is why they keep moving and buying to fill the hole in their soul. Until there is no new place to go and no new toy to buy. Then they become bitter and cruel to there servants. And try to get pleasure through someone else is pain. This is the sick fate of rich people all because Greed is their God. Their food does not taste good their sex is unfulfilling their relation ships are warped and twisted All about using their money to manipulate. So the world has not gotten smaller but there are a lot more of these praises moving around on it use way more resources than they should. And lets face it. It has been this way scene time began. With slavery in the past and now economic slavery. Every person on this planet should be entitled to live life and be happy and not a slave to someone else be it physically or economically there is enough resources if you eliminate the greedy people Get rid of the Greed System the POWER of MONEY. A horse wants to run. A cat wants to hunt. A bird wants to fly. A man wants to do what he does. WE need to evolve past Money. This is just my opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


 




         

How to lose

Last night was not a fun time for the 8th grade girls They had such a big week last week winning the biggest tournament of the year for them. Then the big party at Tatum's house Saturday no sleep an all night-er.Then after school today they have to ride 60 miles in a school bus to Lamesa and play another game.I knew they would be flat. But they defeated Lamesa by a lot of points the first time they played and I assumed they would beat them again. But this was not the case. Right before the game the coach told them that Lamesa had beaten Trinity the week before and Shallowater has never beaten Trinity. That planted a seed in their minds this must be a good team this year even though they beat them by 15 points a month ago. It was never close. What you think is what you get if you think they are good they will play you that way. Maybe this is just what they needed to focus next week on Trinity if Lamesa can beat them. They can. Sometimes a loss is better than a win if it makes you focus and see things in a different light. And you can't be so confident you play sloppy and out of control. You have to run your plays and be disciplined on and off the court. Well we will see if they learn from this loss?????? Winning gives you the big head  Losing tells you you have to work harder and that is the only way to get better.




 

Monday

 Yes it is the Monday morning let down after a great week of basketball for both the 7th and 8th grade girls it's back to school and homework. But alas there is a game tonight yes Lamesa is on the hit list their number came up and there are going down if our girls can rebound from Tatum's party. That is right the girls had a sleep over at Tatum's Saturday night and it was a little taxing They were feed great food and were entertained by Josh Abbott who was in town playing at the wild west. Summer didn't know that my sister is his aunt. And we were at a wedding a few months ago and she sat and talked to Josh's Mom and Dad the whole time. Its a small world. Anyway they were sleeping in the barn because you don't want 13 teen age girls running around your house all night. After they just won the biggest Basketball tournament of the year for them.  The only problem was the heater in the barn quit working and it got cold real cold yes this is the middle of the winter. Tatum would not let them go in the house and the girls didn't want to go home because that would hurt Tatum's feelings and ruin the party. So like the troopers they are they stuck it out and survived. So after an hour of sleep at the party Summer came home and sleep all day. Then had a hard time sleeping Sunday night. Woke up Monday dragging ass didn't want to go to school did not want to drive all the way to Lamesa and play ball.  It is so much fun to go to a party. It does give them something to talk about. Maybe bond for a few days before going back to Prima Dona land. Ha Ha !!!!!!!

International

 I am so happy to see a lot more people from around the world reading my blog Russia, India, France all over it is nice to know humans from different walks of life can read each others stuff and be more in tune to the way of life in other parts of the world. I know I wright a lot about Basketball because that is what my youngest daughter is involved in right now and it does provide a vehicle for understanding the American lifestyle. America is a very competitive place where you either win lose or settle. And sports is a way to just continue that competitive spirit even after you can't compete anymore. But what the international reader should know is America is the land of Greed  or in other words ((America the Greedy)) the all mighty dollar is what runs this country and always has. And the system is set up to make the rich richer and the poor poorer with the exception of the ruthless cold hearted person willing to do what ever it takes in the black market and does not get caught. Because if you get caught we have the largest Prison system in the world and are more than happy to have you work for the rest of your life for the state. That is the down side to crime all those years of slavery There is no personal slaves anymore but the state that is a different thing. And then there is economic slavery. If you don't work you don't eat and will be put in prison for any number of crimes like vagrancy trespassing not paying your bills or fines they have ways of getting rid of people. So if you are a person living in another country and are thinking of moving to America come on over just be prepared to work your ass off for the dream or the nightmare which ever it turns out to be. If you don't mind living around a bunch of greedy selfish spoiled people all walking around with poker faces trying to out do each other. When I was a kid America was not like this it has only happened in the last 25 years. Now your greed and your possessions define who you are. So get over here...........

Basketball and a Rock Band

I was talking to one of the parents of a player on our Mob basketball team. And he was telling me about how his daughter is starting to become more involved with music and is losing interest in playing ball. And I myself being a musician I can see this because that is what happened to me I lost interest in sports and put all my time and energy in to music when I was young. But looking back if it wasn't for all the teams I played on I would have never been able to understand the personal dynamics a band or a team. Because they are the same there is a pecking order in everything. So lets go through it. The point guard is the drummer they set the tempo of the game or the song fast or slow. Now you have the rest of the rhythm section the rhythm guitar and the bass guitar these are your other guards or wing players. They are holding the bottom down and creating the base for your talent players to play. Now who is the talent well its your lead guitar player and your lead singer. The lead singer is your tall post player because both have God given talent. No matter how hard you try you can not make your self tall.And no matter how many singing lessons you take if you can't sing you can't sing. This is talent you do not have to work for God given. And your lead guitar player or your power forward is the same it is God given talent. Now both group have to get on stage and perform. That is right anytime you take your self out of the stands and put yourself out in front of people you have to put on a show perform. Sports is a performing art just like music.And should be treated the same. So it is just like I told my player who wanted to quit basketball and just do music. Basketball is preparing you do be a better performer and a better musician by putting you on that stage and learning to control your nerves. Most people when they get through with their High school athletic career if they were stars they miss the stage and the adulation the attention they become musicians and actors and yes teachers they find a stage even if there audience is children. Adrenaline is a drug..And performing in public is addictive. So have fun with your local Rock Band and your local basketball team...


 



         

Leveland

Well it was a real busy week for basketball here on the plains of west Texas. The Shallowater 7th and 8th
girls teams won the Tournament over in Leveland but it was not easy. The 8th graders they had it pretty easy
After a good game against Frenship on Thursday they play Cooper on Friday not much of a game there an easy win then the Championship on Saturday with Leveland another easy win. But the 7th graders they were in a dog fight against Frenship but pulled it out. Then the next day they were down by 15 in the 4th quarter and their best player was out of the game sick. But some how miraculously they started making shots and getting steals and be for you know it they hit a shot at the buzzer to win by one point. It was the best game I have seen in a long time. But they are use to doing that I don't think they have lost a game in two years And they have been in some close ones. Somehow they always come out on top its uncanny.
 Then on Saturday our mob team got back on there winning ways and played one of the best game of the season for them. It was a team effort not just a one girl show. After that game where our star didn't show up the rest of the team is starting to step up and play better take more responsibility. 

After the game

 Yes after the game is when you see who wants to win. That is right some people cry some get mad some don't care some players show no emotions at all. You can tell a lot about what kind of players you have by the way they lose. Winning show nothing its only through adversity through loosing do you get a glimpse at the heart of your players and how bad they won't to win or if they are just going through the motions. If you are winning you don't work as hard you don't do the extras that will make you better at the next level It is easy to become complacent and set in your routine. Only by lousing and having a real desire to win will a player work harder and sacrifice to get better and it is always conditioning you have to tune the instrument to play your best. That is the only thing a player can control in sports conditioning. All most all other aspects of the game is controlled by other people The coach the referee the other teams players your teams players. The only thing you can control is how hard you work and how bad you want it. And as a Coach you can't see that until you lose some close games that you won't to win.
 Here is another thing after the game. There is two rules in Coaching Educate and Motivate show your players what you want them to do then tell them how good they are doing it that is it no negative comments don't be a fault finder and remember players want to win more than you do. Everybody makes mistakes even you.so don't be a critic be a coach a helper a friend a confidante a cheerleader a teacher not a tyrant a dictator I am the coach I am larger and in charge. And after the game find all the good points of the game and tell your players how good they did win or lose. Be real don't make up stuff players can see through false praise and you lose face credibility and if they don't believe you they want listen to you. Then you can't coach them. So have fun win or lose. After the game!!!!!!!!!!




 

Gun Control

I was recently reading some post on my face book Page about gun control and the number of killings in the U.S. compared to some other European countries and other places in the world like Australia. There were the same old arguments guns done kill people... people do. Yes you can kill people with a shovel or a piece of rope the gun is a tool and that is all it is. Then there is the other side it is to easy to get guns in the U. S. so we need to band gun but that goes against the constitution the rite to bare arms. So here we are and the funny thing is the people who are for gun control are the liberal left the ones who realize if you band something then the only people who have it are criminals and you make them rich by regulating it just like marijuana and just like alcohol during prohibition. That is what made the mafia possible here in the U.S. they made so much money with illegal alcohol it became a successful organization and is still today with drug money. Now on the other hand is the right the old people who say you want my gun you will have to pry it out of my cold dead hand after I have unloaded it in your ass.Personal protection and protection of property is at the heart of there argument and is a valid point.
  Now what the problem is there is a big difference in the psychology of countries  that is right you can't compare the wide openness of the U.S. and the almost feudal system in Europe. If your father is a Plumber in Europe you are going to be a plumber most likely and you are fine with that. Here in the U.S. if your father is a plumber everyone tells you you can be anything you can be a famous actor, singer, doctor,president yes they tell you that you can be anything with hard work. But the fact is you can't if you are not born into a industry you can't  break in to it. It is almost impossible but everyone lies to there little kids and tells them if they work hard it will happen.Then the realization sets in and the frustration that they have been whipping a dead horse. And they go to work for there father as a plumber if they have that option if they don't they go out to get the American Dream money and they don't care what they have to do to get it. This is our national personality and it is very competitive and all people care about is money your wife will divorce you if you don't have enough money if you don't live in the right house or drive the right car or wear the right clothes
you are nobody and so are your children. There is great pressure on people and you wonder why we have so many killing. This is real easy to understand and it has nothing to do with guns. Its about money. And the stress it puts on people to scurry around and get it and if you cheat someone out of there power there money  they will kill you. And if you take away the guns they will kill each other with sticks and rocks. Unfortunately
that is the problem... Our economic system it's so great???????????






   

Just a thought

Life in small town Texas. Yes I went to Summers Basketball game yesterday at Sundown what a bleak little place it is about 15 miles southwest of Leveland in the desert nothing out there but cows and oil wells and every pump jack I seen was moving yes they are sucking that stuff out as fast as they can because the price is up I can remember when all those pump jacks were still not working it looked like a scrap yard out there all the rusty steel just sitting there the cows and the whistle of the wind through the tumble weeds the prairie dogs trying to take back there land. But not now no now it's time to work get out there and paint that old rusty steel fix the roads pump stuff in the ground to force the last drop of oil from the ground. There are trucks and men driving around everywhere working to keep that field producing. I don't know much about the oil industry I worked on a rig back in the 1980 for about a year so I am no expert but back then oil was less than $20 a barrel and every well we drilled they caped and then they finally laid us off because they said the price had to be over $20 a barrel before they could make a profit. Now the price is up and they are making hay wile the sun shines. Go and get that almighty dollar as fast as you can it's the American way. So if your job is slow because of the price of energy just remember one side slows down the other side speeds up yes
people down here in Texas in the oil business are doing fine right now cutting a fat hog in the ass plenty of ham and bacon on the table. Driving around in our great big pickup trucks that get about 10 miles per gallon but we don't care the more we use the longer the price stays up and the more money we make it feeds off it self and we know it. So when gas goes to 5 6 7 10 dollars a gallon don't worry about us we will be down here getting Rich Rich Rich Thank you George Bush. By the way where is all the money going from the Iraq oil. That is the reason we went in there to steal there oil where is all the money going. You know Bush wouldn't tell But neither will Barack Obomber what a joke of a president they showed him the book and he pissed his pants. Bush couldn't read the book so it didn't scare him. He just stumbled around and did exactly what he was told. Good job.. Obomber that's what happens when you send a black man to do a white mans job this is not a basketball game or how to pimp your girlfriend or a movie about how smart black people are written by black people this is the real shit real life This is the real gang wars with big boy toys like Jet Airplanes and Aircraft Carriers and Tanks. Not guns and knifes that is what the little boy gangs on the corner selling dope to their friend use not nuclear weapons. So next time America votes we need to remember Black people are good at physical games but when it comes to making big decisions about the state of the world go with the guy who is good at abstract thinking the Oriental. Basketball

Last night the Shallowater Middle School Teams met up with the girls from Browntown and as usual it was some pretty interesting games the 7th graders did there thing pass pass pass score score score they are the best at playing as a team. The 8th graders kind of struggled in the first half because they were trying to hard Brownfield is the team they beat in the little dribblers National Tournament and they always play tuff even though they are mostly Hispanic and have stopped growing where our girls are just getting bigger and bigger. I think this was the game that they realized Brownfield just can't play with them any more they are to small.
  This is a really big week for me and Summer the game last night then practice on Wed.with our Mob team
Summer has the Sundown Tournament Thur. Fri. and Sat. and I have a Mob games Fri. and Sat. Yes we are going to be pretty busy this week and next.
  After watching all those good teams and players last week at the Caprock I think Summer was trying to do to much in her game last night what she don't realize is in order to play great basketball you have to be in great shape to take your game to the next level you have to work on your instrument your body. You have to get stronger and faster. You can't get taller but you can get stronger and faster up to a point  When you get there that's all you can do. Then it is up to your skill level. So put the work in first .
